Government issues show-cause notice to telecom firms for under-reporting revenues
December 15, 2014
The Ministry of Finance has stated that the government has issued show-cause notices to several telecom companies for under-reporting revenues by a total of over Rs 108 billion till November 2012. Most companies have, however, approached the Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal and other courts against the notices, which have levied stay orders on the same.
The declaration was made by the Union Minister of Finance in Parliament in response to a claim that no case for under-reporting of revenue has been registered by the government against the erring companies.
